IUPUC softball wins once, falls twice; baseball loses to IU-K

IUPUC softball picked up its third win of the season on Monday before dropping a doubleheader on Tuesday.

The Crimson Pride won 5-1 Monday at Brescia (Kentucky). They fell at Oakland City 3-0 and 6-2 on Tuesday.

Morgan Steineker went 4 for 4 with three RBIs, Columbus North graduate Taylor Hadley went 2 for 3 and Macy Hussung went 2 for 4 win the win at Brescia. Sydney Owens, who picked up the win, and North graduate Rachel Cowan, who earned the save, combined on a six-hitter.

Six different players recorded on hit in Tuesday’s opener. Owens allowed only one earned run in taking the loss.

Hadley went 3 for 4, and Elyse Goad went 2 for 3 with a double and a home run in Tuesday’s second game. Cowan started in the circle and took the loss for the Crimson Pride (3-10).

Meanwhile, the IUPUC baseball team lost 12-7 Thursday at IU-Kokomo.

Cyrus Robinson had two RBIs. Columbus East graduate Alex McComb, the third of five Crimson Pride pitchers, took the loss. Hauser graduate Trey Johnson pitched 1.2 scoreless innings to finish.
