A local man was arrested at his residence Tuesday morning as a result of a child molesting investigation conducted by Columbus police detectives.
The investigation began when Columbus police officers were contacted after a female under the age of 14 advised a family member that she had been sexually assaulted earlier this year. Columbus police detectives began an investigation into the incident and later received an arrest warrant for the suspect, Trent W. McBride, 29, of 415 Morningside Drive, Columbus.
McBride was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Bartholomew County Jail where he was remanded on the warrant for child molesting, a Level 1 felony. He remains incarcerated on a $150,000.00 bond, jail officials said.
