Two Indianapolis suspects arrested on felony drug charges

COLUMBUS, Ind. — Two Indianapolis residents were arrested Monday on felony drug charges at the conclusion of a narcotics investigation that involved the CPD Intelligence Led Policing Unit, the Bartholomew County Joint Narcotics Enforcement Team, as well as CPD uniform patrol officers.

Investigators believe that the two persons arrested, who were described as repeat offenders, were responsible for supplying a large amount of fentanyl to the Columbus area, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.

At approximately 12:30 p.m., CPD officers stopped a vehicle near US 31 and Hawcreek Boulevard that was occupied by Dante R. Gooch, 35, of Indianapolis and Kylia D. Turner, 32, of Indianapolis. A short time later, a police service dog alerted to the odor of narcotics coming from the vehicle. Officers conducted a search of the vehicle and located marijuana, digital scales, and numerous plastic bags,  Harris said. Officers also located Suboxone pills
on Gooch as well as counterfeit $100 bills inside Turner’s purse.
