High wind warning in effect for Bartholomew County

The National Weather Service has issued a high wind warning in effect until 6 p.m. for Bartholomew County and surrounding areas.

West winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts of 50 to 60 mph are expected in portions of central and southern Indiana until 6 p.m. today.

Damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines and power outages may occur. Travel may be difficult for high profile vehicles.

The highest wind gusts are expected from 10 a.m. through 1 p.m.
