Hester named to advisory council

Jason Hester

Jason Hester, Greater Columbus Economic Development Corp. president, was recently appointed as a member of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago’s Advisory Council on Small Business, Community and Economic Development, Agriculture and Labor.

Council members provide their views on economic conditions to senior bank officials and President and CEO Austan Goolsbee. They must also represent a section of the region’s economy and have expertise from private companies, labor organizations, academia, banks, nonprofit and philanthropic organizations, and government.

Advisory council members meet twice a year and are from the Seventh Federal Reserve District, which includes Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Wisconsin.

Two sub-councils – Community and Economic Development, and Small Business, Agriculture and Labor – compromise the council. Hester said he has been asked to serve on the sub-council for Small Business, Agriculture and Labor
