Prep sports notebook: Stahl records double-double in HBCA All-Star loss

Columbus East senior Saige Stahl finished with 10 points and 10 rebounds in the Hoosier Basketball Coaches Association girls All-Star Game Sunday at North Daviess High School.

Columbus North senior Lauren Barker added six points. Both girls played for the East team, which fell 72-66 to the West.

In boys All-Star game, North senior Cooper Horn scored 10 points. Horn played for the East team, which lost to the West 148-125.

Euler named North gymnastics MVP

Sophomore Reese Euler was named the Most Valuable Player of the Columbus North gymnastics team, which held its postseason awards banquet on Tuesday.

Ellie McIntire was named Most Improved, and Hannah Perry won the Bull Dog Award.

Hauser boys hoops announces awards

The Hauser boys basketball team recently held its postseason awards banquet.

Ledger Gelfius won the Offensive award, Stryker Gill won the Defensive and Assist awards, Kameron Blair and Gavin Keller were named the Co-Most Improved, Alex Cord won the field-goal percentage award, Taeshaun Tungate won the Rebounding award, Owen McIntyre received the Thompson award, Jake Barriger won the Jet award and Alex Bower received the Bob Carroll Mental Attitude Award.

Flanders makes commitment

Columbus East senior Jordan Flanders announced his commitment to play baseball at West Hills College Coalinga in California.

Flanders moved to Columbus from California prior to this school year.

Guse to do football, track at Wabash

Columbus East senior Jacob Guse has committed to play football and throw the shot and discus in track and field at Wabash.

Guse will participate in a signing ceremony at 3:30 p.m. Monday in the East High School commons.

East girls soccer sets callout meeting

Columbus East girls soccer coach Ilya Schwartzman will hold a callout meeting at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the school’s cafeteria for all girls interested in playing soccer this fall and their parents.
