Democratic incumbent Jerone Wood has won the Democratic nomination for City Council District 3.

COLUMBUS, Ind. — The first primary results have been posted by the Bartholomew County Clerk’s office, showing that Mary Ferdon is leading Milo Smith in the race for the GOP nomination for Columbus mayor.

Ferdon has 1,322 votes to 667 for Smith, according to the early voting and absentee results. The clerk’s office said there were 2,071 early voters and 258 paper absentee ballots returned.

Votes cast today at the city’s vote centers have not yet been tabulated.

In the race for the Democratic nomination for City Council District 3, in early voting, Tony Hayden and Jerone Wood are tied at 28 votes and Michael Kinder has 27.
