Man accused of pointing loaded shotgun during an argument

Columbus police officers arrested local man on several charges after he was accused of pointing a loaded shotgun at another person during an argument.

Shortly after 5:30 p.m. Thursday, CPD officers responded to the 1300 block of Lafayette Avenue regarding a disturbance. When officers arrived, they were advised a man later identified Andrew J. Mohr, 29, of 1317 Lafayette St., Columbus, pointed a loaded shotgun at another person during a dispute over a motorcycle that was being ridden in a nearby alley, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.

Officers recovered the shotgun a short time later and confirmed that the gun was loaded and the safety was off. At the conclusion of the investigation, Mohr was placed under arrest and remanded to the Bartholomew County Jail on preliminary charges of:

—Intimidation with a deadly weapon (Level 5 felony)

—Possession of marijuana (Class B misdemeanor)

—Possession of paraphernalia (Class C misdemeanor)

—Battery on law enforcement officer (Level 6 felony)

—Pointing a loaded firearm (Level 6 felony)

—Disorderly conduct (Class B misdemeanor)

—Criminal recklessness with a firearm (Level 6 felony)

Mohr was being held without bond in the Bartholomew County Jail, jail officials said.
