Luke Harmon // Columbus North senior baseball player

Harmon went 3 for 4 in a 13-4 win against Shelbyville, went 1 for 3 in a 4-3 loss to Greenwood and went 1 for 2 and threw a four-hitter with 11 strikeouts in Friday’s 7-1 win at Columbus East.

His performance last week: “I couldn’t really ask for more. I gave up a hit to one of my best friends, Will Boyer, but that was OK.”

Do you do anything special to prepare? “I eat a peanut butter-and-jelly sandwich before every game, and I do yoga before every pitching outing.”

Favorite drink: “Kroger chocolate milk”

Favorite food: “Steak”

Favorite class: “I really like business management.”

Favorite sports team: “Indiana University”

Favorite athlete: “Michael Jordan”

Role model: “My parents (Mike and Kelly Harmon)”

Best advice: “Live in the moment, and cherish all the time you have because it will be gone pretty quick.”

Athletics goal: “I’ve always wanted to pitch in college.”

If you could travel anywhere: “Iowa, to go see my brother (Reese, who plays baseball at Iowa Western Community College).”

Kyra Meister

Meister went 3 for 4 with an RBI in a 10-2 win against Greensburg, 2 for 4 with a double in a 15-2 win at Milan, 2 for 4 in a 4-2 win against Lawrenceburg and 3 for 4 with two doubles and five RBIs in an 8-2 win against Lawrenceburg.

Her performance last week: “It was a better game. We haven’t had that many games this season.”

Do you do anything special to prepare? “I always do my hair the same way, and I always put on my uniform the same way.”

Favorite drink: “Anything from Dunkin Donuts”

Favorite food: “Biscuits and gravy”

Favorite class: “All of my agriculture classes are my favorite.”

Favorite sports team: “Purdue, because that’s where I’m going.”

Favorite athlete: “I always looked up to (former Hauser and Indiana State softball star) Leslie Sims growing up.”

Role model: “My dad (Dan Meister).”

Best advice: “Do the right thing, even when no one is looking.”

Athletics goal: “Finish off strong. The goal is always to win sectional, win regional, win semistate and win state.”

If you could travel anywhere: “Somewhere in the Caribbean. I love the beach and the sun.”
