Roger Dale McMillan, 69, of Seymour, passed away at 12:19 p.m. Thursday, May 4, 2023 at Schneck Medical Center.
Roger was born September 18, 1953, in Columbus, Indiana, the son of Lawrence “Robert” and Betty Jenkins McMillan. On September 13, 2000, he married Jackie Means.
Mr. McMillan worked for Cummins Engine Company for 30 years before retiring and started the H&L Cleaning Company with his wife, Jackie. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and being outdoors. Roger also enjoyed going to the casino. He was a member of the Jackson County Masonic Lodge #146 for 44 years.
Survivors include his wife, Jackie; children, Wayne (Tonya) Robinson of Columbus, Troy (Shannon) Alvey of Osgood, Indiana, Roger Dale McMillan, Jr. of North Vernon; step-children, Bernard (Alex) Means of Tennessee, Amber McCullough of Columbus; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and sister, Connie (Russ) Sproessig, also of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughters, Brandy Alvey, Makalia Robinson and nephew, Rodney Drake.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Barkes, Weaver &Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Rev. Cindy Barnard officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. A masonic service will be held Thursday evening at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Ohio Chapel Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner Children’s Hospital.
