| Larry D. Hendrickson-Ricks, 53, of Columbus, passed away at 3:27 p.m. Thursday. April 27, 2023 at I.U. Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He had been a heart patient for many years.
Larry was born August 18, 1969, in Columbus, Indiana, the son of Ivan C. and Ianthia Berryhill Hendrickson. Larry was a self-employed diesel mechanic. He would help anyone if he could, was a giving person and seemed to aways be wearing a smile. Going to various flea markets was one of his favorite things to do in his spare time. Grilling out was another way Larry enjoyed passing the time, especially grilling ribs. Larry’s sense of humor will truly be missed by those that knew him. Survivors include his daughter, Shantel Ricks; niece-daughter, Treasure Ricks; granddaughter, Alaysha Ricks; brothers, Chris Ricks, Ivan Hendrickson, sister, Tiki Hendrickson; mother, Ianthia “Ann” Ricks; companion, Melinda Smith, all of Columbus. He was preceded in death by his father, Ivan C. Hendrickson and sister, Amber Hendrickson. The funeral service was conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Bishop Johnnie Edwards officiating. Visitation was from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at the funeral home. Burial took place at Lambert Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the family of Larry D.
