No. 12-ranked Columbus North will be a heavy favorite to win another sectional title this week when they host four other local schools in the North Sectional.
The Bull Dogs will open the sectional against Edinburgh at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. Thursday’s 4:30 p.m. semifinals will match Hauser against Brown County and Columbus East against the North-Edinburgh winner. The final is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Friday.
Jennings County drew a bye in the Greensburg Sectional and will play with winner between Madison and Southwestern (Hanover) in the semifinals.
Trinity Lutheran will meet Austin in the opening round of the Seymour Sectional. The winner will face Austin in the semifinals.
All three of those sectional winners will play in the regional at Bloomington South. The Columbus North Sectional winner will play the Seymour Sectional winner, and the Greensburg Sectional winner will face the Bloomington South Sectional winner in the semifinals on May 23. The final is May 24.
The Bloomington South Regional winner will face the Jasper Regional winner in the Jasper Semistate on May 27. The winner of that advances to the state quarterfinals on June 2 at Center Grove. The state semifinals and final are June 3, also at Center Grove.
