BOYS GOLF

East downs Devils

Columbus East didn’t use its top five golfers Wednesday, but Keaton Stephenson won medalist honors with a 42 to lead the Olympians to a 188-233 win against Jeffersonville at Otter Creek.

Mason Reeves carded a 47 for East. Danny Coriden added a 49, Luke Rice had a 50 and Josh Saewert and Henry Sims each shot 54.

Eagles take second

NASHVILLE — Brown County finished second in a tri match at Salt Creek. Indian Creek won with a 193 to 202 for the Eagles and 223 for Mooresville Christian.

Wesley Arndt led Brown County with a 46. Liam Cassiday carded a 50, Clay Austin added a 51, Jon Kirchhofer shot 55, Bradley Arndt had a 57 and Will Hiatt finished with a 64.

Warriors top Panthers

NORTH VERNON — Jennings County fell to Scottsburg 160-175 on senior night at St. Anne’s.

Davey Shaw, Jack Grider and Jack George all shot 43 to lead the Panthers. Tanner Stearns added a 46, and Eli Simmons had a 49.

East falls to Cougars

Columbus East took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first, but Bloomington North scored four times in the second and went on to post a 5-2 victory.

J.R. Wynne went 2 for 3 for the Olympians (4-20). Parker Harris and Jacob Clark combined on a seven-hitter.

Pirates no-hit SD

GREENSBURG — Greensburg threw a five-inning no-hitter in a 10-0 win against South Decatur.

The Cougars fell to 14-7.

Warriors oust Cougars

SEYMOUR — Trinity Lutheran saw its season come to an end with a 5-0 loss to Scottsburg in the opening round of the Seymour Sectional.

Drew Hubbard fell to Claire Routt 6-2, 6-4 at No. 1 singles, Siddha Hall lost to Grace Routt 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 singles and Samantha Enzinger fell to Olivia Spellman 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3 singles for the Cougars (8-10).

Trinity’s Kiley Zabel and Carson Bowling lost to Olivia Fugate and Kira Shelhamer 6-2, 6-4 at No. 1 doubles. Natalee Martinez and Emily Keller fell to Malea Luttrell and Klara Leach 6-4, 6-0 at No. 2 doubles.
