Columbus Signature Academy Central Campus students from CSA 8 Middle School recently hosted their yearly carnival called “Carnival 4 a Cause,” a fundraising event where proceeds are donated to different organizations. Students from Central Middle School also participated in the event.

This year, the money was raised and donated in memory of Emmie Brooks, a classmate who died this school year after a battle with cancer. CSA 8 students raised more than $8,000, which is the highest amount they have ever raised.

The money was donated to Riley Children’s Hospital on May 23rd and was presented to Susie Miles, a Kids Caring and Sharing Officer at the foundation. The money donated will allow CSA 8 Middle School to sponsor a red wagon with a personalized license plate that will honor Emmie’s name and memory.
