Emergency Management: Multiple rounds of storms possible today, Sunday

COLUMBUS, Ind. — Multiple rounds of severe weather are possible today through Sunday for Bartholomew County, according to Bartholomew County Emergency Management.

  • Multiple rounds of severe weather are possible through Sunday evening. Timing and placement of each round will be influenced by the ones before it, and uncertainty increases with time through the weekend.
  • Best chances for damaging winds will be along an area south of Terre Haute to Greensburg, but there remains some risk to the north.
  • Severe threat for Sunday has come down some, remaining highest across southeast Indiana.  If storms remain south of central Indiana this evening, the threat may be a bit higher tomorrow afternoon.

 

Timing:

  • Saturday – Severe threat today will be highest during the 8 PM – Midnight time frame.  (Slight Risk 2/5 with the northeastern portion of the county in an Enhanced Risk 3/5 for the remaining two-thirds)
  • Sunday – Afternoon and evening (Marginal Risk 1/5)
