JACKSON COUNTY — Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Force Construction Co. will close State Road 135 at the bridge over Branch of Kiper Creek on or after Monday, July 10, for a superstructure replacement project in Jackson County.
The bridge is located 2.68 miles north of State Road 58, near County Road 890N and is expected to remain closed for approximately 65 days. The official detour will follow State Road 58, State Road 258, State Road 11, I-65 and State Road 46.
The $4.5 million contract also includes a deck overlay, superstructure replacement and four box culvert replacements on State Road 135, State Road 258 and State Road 58.
INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, use extra caution and avoid distractions in and near construction zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
