The Columbus Star Quilters recently celebrated their 40th birthday with a recognition of women who were responsible for the founding of the group.
A highlight of the day was receiving a proclamation from the City of Columbus recognizing and celebrating the birthday of the guild.
The guild consists of two groups: the Star Quilters, who meet on the first Thursday of each month at Columbus First Baptist Church; and the Evening Star Quilt Guild, which meets the second Tuesday of each month at Mill Race Center.
