North to host boys soccer sectional

The remaining fall postseason alignments and hosts were released at last month’s IHSAA executive committee meeting.

In boys soccer, Columbus North is hosting a Class 3A sectional that includes Columbus East, along with Franklin, Whiteland, Roncalli and Franklin Central. In girls soccer, Whiteland will host a 3A sectional that includes the same schools. The regional finals for boys and girls will be held at Bloomington South. Hauser is in the Class A Indianapolis Lutheran Sectional that feeds into the Knightstown Regional.

In volleyball, Franklin will host a 4A sectional that includes North and East. Hauser will travel to Southwestern (Hanover) for its 2A sectional after hosting last year. The Franklin Sectional winner will feed into the Bloomington North Regional, and the Southwestern (Hanover) Sectional winner will feed into the Mitchell Regional.

For girls golf, the sectional and regional assignments went unchanged.

East to hold boys basketball camp

New Columbus East boys basketball coach Perry Nash will be holding a camp on Monday through July 20. Times are 4 to 5 p.m. for Grades 1-3, 4 to 5:30 p.m. for Grades 4-6 and 5:30 to 7 p.m. for Grades 7-8.

East athletics to host Tailgate Party

Columbus East will be holding its first Athletics Tailgate Party from 4 to 7 p.m. Aug. 5 in the school’s south parking lot.

The tailgate party will include food trucks, a cornhole tournament and other yard games and bounce houses. There also will be live music from 5 to 7 p.m.

North to host Blue and White Night

Columbus North’s annual Blue and White Night will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. Aug. 5.

The athletics department will host an informational meeting for all student-athletes and their parents in Memorial Gym, and All-Sports passes will be sold throughout the evening. There will be a “Dog Bowl” involving all North fall, winter and spring sports teams at Max Andress Field.
