Moonlight Loop night bike ride to help animals

Bike riders can plan on a fun, festive night out next weekend that also will raise money to help four-legged friends.

The Moonlight Loop is a leisurely 19-mile night bike ride through Columbus benefiting the Adoption Medical Fund at Columbus Animal Care Services. The ride will start at 9 p.m. Saturday, July 29, at the Bartholomew County Public Library, where the event will also conclude.

To register for the ride, get more information or see a map of the route, visit the CACS website at columbus.in.gov/animal-care-services. Registration fee is $35 per rider through July 28 and $40 the day of the event.

Participants are encouraged to decorate their bikes and themselves with lights, glow sticks and glow-in-the-dark paint to compete in CACS’ “Light Up the Night” contest. Prizes will be awarded to the winner and runner-up! Everyone will receive an ice cream treat at the end of the ride.

Those interested in volunteering to help with the event should email [email protected].
