Kentucky man arrested after confrontation with local homeowner

COLUMBUS, Ind. — A Kentucky man was arrested and accused of battery and residential entry after a confrontation with a homeowner in the 6300 block of South County Road 250E.

Charles Mullins, 67, of Hebron, Kentucky, was arrested on the charges and was being held in the Bartholomew County Jail in lieu of $12,250 bond, said Sgt. Dane Duke, sheriff department spokesman.

Bartholomew County Sheriff deputies were sent to the home at 10:46 p.m. July 31 on a report of a disturbance. A homeowner reported that a male subject was attempting to kick in the door of his residence. Residents confronted the male suspect and after a
physical confrontation the suspect fled the area. Deputies attempted to locate the suspect however were unable to find him, Duke said.

On Aug. 1, at about 8:46 a.m., the homeowners from the original incident saw the suspect
walking along State Road 7, and immediately called law enforcement. Deputies located the male in the 9900 block of State Road 7, a short time later the male was confirmed to be the suspect who was also caught on Ring camera footage during the original incident, Duke said.
