INDIANAPOLIS — South Decatur raced to a 36-0 lead after one quarter on its way to a 69-0 football rout Friday at Irvington Prep Academy.
The Cougars (1-1) ran a total of 14 offensive plays and scored on nine of them against a team that was playing its first year of 11-man football. Jayden Jackson-Ray had three carries for 133 yards and three touchdowns
Owen Arreola ran for a score and caught a touchdown pass from Jaylyn McMurray. Corbin Johnson had two carries for 48 yard and two scores. Colby Rathburn ran for a touchdown and had a punt return for touchdown, and Garrett Huckelberry ran for a score.
McKinley Shook went 8 for 9, and Rathburn was 1 for 1 on extra points.
