COLUMBUS, Ind. — A local man was arrested Wednesday night after Columbus police officers located a stolen handgun inside his vehicle during a traffic stop.

At approximately 11:20 p.m., CPD officers stopped a vehicle near 11th Street and
California Street after observing the vehicle had only one working headlight. When officers made contact with the driver of the vehicle, Elias D. Marshall, 22, they noted that he was visibly nervous. The officers observed a handgun next to the driver’s seat and secured the weapon a short time later, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.
