1) Singer Jason Petty is recognized by music publications and websites, critics and especially by those who knew and played with Hank Williams as perhaps the nation’s best channeler of the late country music star. He brings his talent to the concert show “Hank and My Honky Tonk Heroes” at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Brown County Playhouse, 70 S. Van Buren St. in Nashville. His set list includes such hits as “I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry,” “Your Cheatin’ Heart,” “Hey Good Lookin’,” and others, plus tunes from a variety of other stars on the music scene during Williams’ quick rise to fame. 2) Mark your calendar a bit early: the monthly free Canines and Cocktails gathering on the patio of Hotel Indigo, 400 Br0wn St. in downtown Columbus, is set for 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 28. Hotel ambassador Tripp, the Bichon Frise who reigns as Lord of the Lobby, will serve as host for a mix of people and pooches enjoying live music and specials on the venue’s menu, plus something for the furry friends. Information: Facebook page for Hotel Indigo Architectural Center.
3) Country music veteran Tanya Tucker is a great recommendation anytime. She’s slated to present tunes from her latest release “Sweet Western Sound” at her concert at 7:30 p.m. today at the Brown County Music Center, 200 Maple Leaf Drive in Nashville. She’ll also spotlight a string of some of her 40 Top 10 hits. Information and tickets: browncountymusiccenter.com
