The Sound and Spirit of Columbus Marching Band will perform in the Open Class Regional event for the ISSMA Marching Band season on Oct. 7 at Center Grove High School in Greenwood.
The season will feature 170 Indiana High School Marching Bands that will compete in Festival, Scholastic, or Open Class. Open class is for bands aiming to perform at the State Finals at Lucas Oil Stadium.
Bands will receive an assessment in performance and effectiveness of the musical and visual aspects of their performance, as well as receive a Gold, Silver, Bronze, or Participation rating.
The top 10 Open Class bands at each Regional site will perform at the Open Class Semi-state on Oct. 21 at Franklin Community High School, Decatur Central High School, Pike High School and Ben Davis High School, depending their location.
The finals will be held on Oct. 28 at Lucas Oil Stadium, as the ISSMA celebrates Indiana’s 50th State Marching Band Finals.
