The board will meet behind closed doors at the Columbus Township Office, 1333 Washington St., starting at 6 p.m. to discuss if disciplinary action will be taken against the fire chief, and if so, what action that will be, said Columbus Township Trustee Ben Jackson.

After the closed session, the board will hold a public meeting to “to discuss the official action we’re going to take,” which is estimated to start at around 7:30 p.m., Jackson said.

Jackson confirmed that “the fire chief is alleged to have engaged in misconduct” but declined to provide more details about the allegations, adding that “we’ll announce that after the meeting.”

“I’ve investigated it,” Jackson said. “I have written statements from everyone involved. We’re going to decide what to do. Of all the things I get to do, this is probably my least favorite.”
