COLUMBUS
Norma J. Beatty, 90, of Columbus, passed away at 7:50 a.m. Sunday, September 24, 2023 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Norma was born January 14, 1933, in Columbus, Indiana, the daughter of Dillard and Georgia Greenlee Beatty. On August 19, 1951 she married John Beatty.
Mrs. Beatty worked at Bush’s Market for many years as a clerk. In her younger years she enjoyed camping and line dancing. In her later years, Norma found enjoyment in shopping.
Survivors include her daughter, Michelle (Doug) McCammon of Bloomington; son, John David Beatty, Jr. of Edinburgh; grandchildren, Matthew McCammon, Jessica (Tim Pittman) McCammon; great-granddaughter, Berkleigh McCammon-Pittman; brother, Butch Beatty of Columbus; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; grandson, Dustin Beatty; daughter-in-law, Cathy Beatty; sisters, Mildred Fields, Mary Sampson, Grace Owens and brother, Charles Beatty.
In keeping with the family’s request, cremation will take place and a graveside inurnment will take place at 1:00 p.m. Friday at Garland Brook Cemetery with Pastor Luke Maggard officiating.
