Financial literacy coalition seeks volunteers

The Bartholomew County Financial Literacy Coalition is seeking volunteers for two upcoming events helping students learn the importance and value of money.

“We often talk about helping youth make good choices, and these opportunities are geared to do just that regarding finances,” said Harriet Armstrong, a coalition volunteer and a co- facilitator of the events. “There is no need plan anything ahead of time, but individuals are needed to assist make the experiences interactive and more real for the students.”

The times vary according to the event. By clicking on the links provided, prospective volunteers can see what works best for their schedule.

Armstrong and other volunteers are encouraging people to share the information with groups that might be interested in assisting.

The events and their purposes are:

•Reality Store: Tuesday., Oct. 31 at Northside Middle School, 1400 27th St.

•Reality Store: Thursday, Nov. 9 at Central Middle School, 725 Seventh St.

Other events are:

•Mad City Money: Monday, Nov. 13 and Tuesday, Nov. 14 at Columbus East High School, 230 S. Marr Road.

•Mad City Money: Wednesday., Nov. 15 and Thursday, Nov. 16 at Columbus North High School, 1400 25th St.
