
Olympians basketball players, from left, Rick Roberts, Vic Young and Dan Greene, turned up for a two-hour basketball practice at 12:01 a.m., then stretched out on the hardwood for a nap before school started, all to become the first team in the state to start the 1973-74 season. A crowd of about 30 people and the East cheerleaders also were on hand for the pratice.
