Brian’s Picks

A few entertainment suggestions from the area’s activities calendar.

1) Columbus actor and writer Jason Bowser, shown here, continues pouring his energy and creativity into original scripts for area dinner theater audiences with his latest “A Killer Comedy” to be presented Friday through Sunday and also on Oct. 20 and 22 at Willow Leaves of Hope, 326 Jackson St. in Hope. Bowser’s previous efforts have earned solid, positive feedback from audiences who seem to love a night of humor. Bowser has always been funny, both onstage and in interviews. Information and reservations: 812-341-7251.

2) Call it something of a country extravaganza when Aaron Tippin (above), Sammy Kershaw, and Collin Raye get together for a single show at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Brown County Music Center, 200 Maple Leaf Boulevard in Nashville. Organizers are calling it “an evening filled with stories and songs as they get back to the roots of their music.” Tippin alone has charted 34 singles in his career. 3) If you’re already in the Halloween spirit, you can head to “When Darkness Falls” presenting its first ever Blackout Night Experience on – what else? — only Friday the 13th. This is limited to only 100 tickets as attendees use only a lantern for light in the woods at CERA Sports Park and Campground, 3989 S. County Road 525E, southeast of Columbus. Information and tickets: ceraland.org.
