COLUMBUS, Ind. — Columbus police have identified the individuals involved in a shooting incident Wednesday night at the Pinebrook Courts Apartments in which a man was critically injured.

Columbus police said Saturday that Bryan Streeval, 36, Columbus, suffered a gunshot wound in the 10 p.m. shooting/robbery Wednesday night. Police said he remains in critical condition at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, where he was transported by helicopter Wednesday night.

The man who reportedly wounded Streeval was identified as Jonathan Carman, 36, of Columbus. Carman was interviewed by detectives and later released, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman. The Bartholomew County Prosecutor’s office is assisting Columbus police with the investigation, Harris said.

Columbus police were sent to the apartments on a report of a robbery and “shots fired,” according to initial reports. The apartments, in the 1900 block of Pinebrook Court, are off Central Avenue north of Parkside Drive.

Streeval was found outside the apartments in the yard, and police provided CPR to him until paramedics arrived.

Police initially detained Carman and secured the handgun used in the incident, according to CPD.
