Atram and Amrit Kar won their No. 1 doubles matches in 3-2 wins against Floyd Central and Jasper and in a 3-2 loss to Carmel to help lead the Bull Dogs to a state runner-up finish and qualify for this weekend’s State Doubles Finals.
His performance last week: “I think we played pretty good. They were really tough matches. We almost lost the first one, but we pulled through, and the last one, we played one of the best teams and beat them.”
Do you do anything special to prepare? “Practice, and then just be mentally tough.”
Favorite drink: “Blue Fanta from McDonald’s”
Favorite food: “BW’s wings”
Favorite class: “3D Animation”
Favorite sports team: “Florida tennis”
Favorite athlete: “Danill Medvedev”
Role model: “My dad (Sharad Atram)”
Best advice: “Always give 110 percent, and never give up.”
Athletics goal: “To win state.”
If you could travel anywhere: “Probably Japan, because I watch a lot of Anime, and all the scenery is good there, too.”

His performance last week: “We fought hard. We just played well and executed our game plan. We knew what the other teams were doing, but we just stuck to what our game plan was and just really battled through and came out on top.”
Do you do anything special to prepare? “Stay hydrated. You obviously don’t want to cramp, especially in those long matches against good teams. Eat the right stuff and get in the right mental mindset.”
Favorite drink: “Gatorade”
Favorite food: “Burritos”
Favorite class: “AP Economics”
Favorite sports team: “I’m a big IU fan, but I also like the Seattle Seahawks.”
Favorite athlete: “Roger Federer and Rajon Rondo”
Role model: “My parents (Suddh and Sanjita) and my older brother (Vedant).”
Best advice: “Never give up, no matter what situation you’re in. Just keep fighting.’’
Athletics goal: “To be a state champion.”
If you could travel anywhere: “Australia. It’s a nice coastal area with a really tropical vibe.”
