The city has engaged a contractor to add pedestrian signals at three intersections along 25th Street.
The Columbus Board of Works voted Tuesday to award a pedestrian signal improvement project to Dave O’Mara Contractor, Inc.
According to city engineer Andrew Beckort, the contract amount is $336,076.40.
“It was originally bid as four subprojects,” he said. “We’re only going to award projects A-C, which is 25th and Home, 25th and Maple, and 25th and Taylor.”
The city will not be awarding the sub-project for 25th Street and Marr Road at this time due to cost constraints, he said.
Beckort stated at a previous meeting that the new pedestrian signals will include push buttons for pedestrians to use when crossing.
