Bartholomew County

The Polidor 5K — 8:30 to 10 a.m., St. Bartholomew Church, 1306 27th St., Columbus. Annual 5K Run/Walk held to raise money for the ALFA program in Northern Haiti. Join us in our effort to help equip market woman and peasant farmers in Haiti with the tools to improve their lives and give them the dignity that every human being deserves. Join us for rice and beans after the race.

Nala Palooza — 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Mill Race Park, 50 Carl Miske Dr., Columbus, a first ever free dog festival at Mill Race Park to raise funds for the Nala Fund. For $10, you can sign up for our Poker Run. Other activities include dog demos, free dog microchipping, bouncy house, face painting, 20+ vendors, crafts for all ages, games, balloon animals, and more. Plan to eat your lunch and dessert at Food Trucks from Party Chef and Miss Rachel’s Sweet Treats. We will be having a free dog costume contest at 11:45 a.m. selecting the cutest, creepiest, funniest, or extravagant costume.

Hooks and Needles Workshop — 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Bartholomew County Public Library, 536 Fifth St., Columbus. Calling all types of needle crafters to gather to create and socialize. We will help you learn how to read patterns and work on basic needlecraft projects. Come hang out, share your project and ideas or learn a new craft.

Kids’ Kitchen — 2 to 2:45 p.m., Bartholomew County Public Library, 536 Fifth St., Columbus. Join us for an in-person session of Kid’s Kitchen. Registration is required to attend. In our October session, we will be making spiderweb pretzels and jack-o-lantern Oreos. All ingredients provided.

Seed Swap — 2 to 4 p.m., Bartholomew County Public Library, 536 Fifth St., Columbus. Get to know your fellow local gardeners and bring your excess seeds from your harvest to swap with others and with the library’s Cleo’s Seed Share.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show — 8 p.m. to midnight, Crump Theater, 425 Third St., Columbus. Prepare for a night of wild, wacky, and utterly unforgettable entertainment as we bring the cult classic “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” to life in an electrifying shadow cast experience like no other. Doors open at 8 p.m. and show starts at 10 p.m. Come early to have some fun with us before the show.

Jennings County

Mystery Dinner — 6 p.m., Jennings County Historical Society, 134 E. Brown St., Vernon. Dinner guests will enjoy delicious food served in a most mysterious, theatrical atmosphere. This year’s theme is Hollywood Horror.

Ghost Walk — 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., Jennings County Historical Society, 134 E. Brown St., Vernon. Reservations are not required for the Ghost Walk and tickets are available at the historical society’s museum. Local students perform folklore and ghost stories around the square.
