Oliva scored the Bull Dogs’ lone goal in Saturday’s 2-1 loss to Cathedral in the Columbus East Semistate.

His performance last week: “The whole team played very good. We all have been prepared for this the whole season, so it was really exciting, but we didn’t get the result that we wanted.”

Do you do anything special to prepare? “I just listen to music.”

Favorite drink: “I drink a lot of Powerade or Gatorade.”

Favorite food: “Steak”

Favorite class: “Medical Terminology”

Favorite sports team: “FC Barcelona”

Favorite athlete: “Lionel Messi”

Role model: “My mom and dad (Doris and Glen Vogel)”

Best advice: “Always work hard for the things you want.”

Academic goal: “I want to be a doctor.”

If you could travel anywhere: “Barcelona. I have family there, and I want to watch the Barcelona (soccer) team.”

Carys Glyn-Jones

Glyn-Jones placed fifth in 19 minutes, 1.0 second for 5,000 meters (3.1 miles) to lead the Bull Dogs to a runner-up team finish in the Evansville Mater Dei Semistate.

Her performance last week: “I’m really happy with it. A lot of my season, I haven’t been doing as well as I thought I would, so it felt good. I felt a lot like myself. It was a really fun race.”

Do you do anything special to prepare? “I usually try to get as much sleep and hydration and eat well.”

Favorite drink: “Coke”

Favorite food: “Pizza”

Favorite class: “I enjoy math.”

Favorite sports team: “Indianapolis Colts”

Favorite athlete: “Sydney McLaughlin”

Role model: “My stepdad (Mornay Annadale)”

Best advice: “Just look at the moment that you’re in. Don’t look too much at the past or future. Just enjoy every moment that you’re experiencing.’’

Athletics goal: “Just to do my best and to look back and say I’ve achieved as much as I could have achieved.”

If you could travel anywhere: “Probably Italy. It just looks really beautiful.”
