NexusPark passed an important milestone on Monday when the first Columbus Regional Health-affiliated medical service provider opened its doors in renovated space in the former FairOaks Mall.
OB/GYN Associates opened to patients at its new location, relocating from its former office at 3183 N. National Road. It’s the first of several CRH outpatient providers that will call NexusPark home, relocating to the 2100 block of 25th Street in coming months.
Dr. Brenden Barker praised the new space, telling The Republic’s Jana Wiersema that it was “modernized, up to date, bright, open. It’s really, it’s second to none.”
NexusPark will offer new forward-looking spaces for numerous CRH-affiliated providers, and with great benefit to patients as well as doctors, nurses and staff. As Dr. Degaulle Haile noted, the new OB/GYN practice eventually will operate next to Columbus Pediatrics, allowing these two practices to work together more easily when necessary.
As Wiersema noted, NexusPark remains a construction site, even for a few finishing touches for OB/GYN Associates. But when finished, these facilities will bring state-of-the-art health care service delivery to patients in a convenient location.
The health care delivery and wellness components of the NexusPark equation are crucial to the long-term success of the development. The city and CRH have committed millions of dollars in public and private investment in a novel joint venture that also boasts a new fieldhouse and parks facilities along with restaurant and retail space.
So by the time most of the construction and renovation is completed in the spring of next year, these CRH services will have a new home at NexusPark, Wiersema reported, with expected opening dates as follows:
Jan. 29, 2024: BCSC Clinic; Healthy Communities; Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapy; and WellConnect
- Feb. 12, 2024: Doctors Park Family Medicine, Rau Family Medicine and VIMCare Clinic
- Feb. 26, 2024: Lab Services and Sandcrest Family Medicine
- March 25, 2024: Audiology and Family & Internal Medicine
- April 8, 2024: Neurology and Sleep Sciences
- April 22, 2024: Columbus Pediatrics
For providers and patients, having all of these services located in one modern and convenient location should provide a multitude of benefits. These relocated offices also are an important part of the foundation of the long-term success of NexusPark.
Because of its structure as a public/private partnership, every resident of Columbus has an interest in the fortunes of the former FairOaks Mall, and we believe the city and CRH demonstrated clear, logical, forward-thinking vision in redevelopment of this property. And as the pieces begin to fall into place, we’re excited to see that vision transforming into reality.
