Amy Davis to take on dual leadership role at Cummins

Amy Davis

Cummins Inc. announced Friday that Amy Davis will assume a dual leadership role within the company, taking over the helm of the company’s components business while maintaining her current role leading Accelera.

Cummins Chair and CEO Jennifer Rumsey said in a statement that the move, which takes effect Wednesday, will unify the two businesses under one leader but will continue operating independently and “bring together two experienced and capable teams of general managers.”

The components business includes, among other things, products such as aftertreatment systems, turbochargers, transmissions, fuel systems, axles, drivelines, brakes and suspension systems, according to Cummins’ most recent annual report.

Accelera includes the company’s growing electrified power and hydrogen portfolio and represents much of its efforts to invest in technologies that seek to curb greenhouse gas emissions.

Davis’ new title will be vice president and president of Accelera and components, Cummins said.

“I am thrilled to have Amy lead both the Components and Accelera business segments,” Rumsey said. “… Unified under one leader, Accelera and Components will continue operating as independent segments, but we will bring together two experienced and capable teams of general managers to continue leading them forward. Amy has the skills and experience to continue the momentum and growth of both businesses, and I am confident in the future of both under her leadership.”

The announcement comes about a week-and-a-half after Cummins said the previous leader of the components business, Mahesh Narang, would depart the company to pursue an external opportunity.

Davis joined Cummins 1994 and has held several roles at the company, including leading the Accelera business since 2020. She previously held a role in the components segment, leading Cummins’ filtration business, which is now a standalone company called Atmus Filtration Technologies.

Cummins said that the Accelera and components businesses will build off the strength of Cummins’ incumbency in the market, while ensuring the businesses grow, improve performance and transform their portfolios over the course of the energy transition.
