Kenyetta Dance Company will perform three site-specific dances at three Exhibit Columbus temporary public art installations beginning at 5:30 p.m. Friday in a collaboration that fuses dance and design, The Columbus Area Arts Council announced.
The event, “Kenyetta Dance Company: On-site with Exhibit Columbus,” will begin at 418 Fourth St., immediately following the Exhibit Columbus program Activations in Place. Dancers will interpret through movement the essence, purpose and energy of the installations featured in the Exhibit Columbus Public by Design exhibition.
The performances will take place at the following locations within the Public by Design exhibition:
1. “A Carousel for Columbus” at 418 Fourth Street (Ovation Plaza), designed by Joseph Altshuler and Zack Morrison.
2. “Designed by the Public” at 536 5th Street (Library Plaza), a creation of Tatiana Bilbao, ESTUDIO.
3. “Machi” at 637 7th St (Cummins Parking Garage, West), a vision realized by the High School Design Team.
Guests are invited to walk between locations to catch performances at each venue. More information about the event is available at artsincolumbus.org/kenyetta.
