Club Olympia Swim Team participated in a one-day closed invite meet Nov. 4 at the Chase Smith Natatorium at Indian Creek High School along with the host Indian Creek Swim Club, Flashes Aquatics of Franklin Central, Milan Aquatics and Seymour Swimming. There were no team or individual scoring awarded during the meet which consisted only of three mixed gender age group categories — 8-and-under, 12-and-under and Open.

This was the third meet in four weeks for many of the 40 Club Olympia swimmers, who combined to achieve 108 personal-best times and two new Age Group State cuts during the meet.

Top Club Olympia performers on the day were Camila Meija Murguia and Chad Pendleton, who each achieved a new Age Group State time standard, as well as Misha Machavariani with two open division event wins. Meija Murguia, who is 11 but turns 12 before the end of the year, achieved the 12-year-old cut in the 50-yard freestyle and swam best times in all four of her 12U Mixed individual events, claiming two wins, as well as second- and fifth-place finishes.

Pendleton achieved another 10U Age Group State cut in the 100 butterfly, giving him cuts in seven out of a possible 10 events. He also swam to a best time in the Mixed Open 100 backstroke, just missing that state cut. Misha Machavariani won two Mixed Open events — the 100 breaststroke and 100 butterfly — and achieved best times placing second in the 100 freestyle and third in the 100 backstroke.

Swimmers achieving personal-best times in all the events in which they competed were Saanvi Dadheech, Gargi Gupta, Jasper Nickoll and Ethan Suo. Those getting best times in all but one of their events were Arjun Agarkar, Vivaan Gallege, Neeti Gujarathi, Victoria Mocanu, Misheeta Pal, Kay Payne, Max Tempest and Daxton Wolf. Swimmers who achieved personal records in two of their four swims included Joey Elkalla, Aahana Ingole, Rayaan Malviya, Shourya Malviya, Lexi Miller, Noah Plunkett, Eva Rayomand, Aashka Shah and Xavier Zhang.

Also competing were Amelia Arul, Landon Cottle, Sarthak Deshmukh, Aahan Gupta, Todd Hundley, Adir Joshi, Nandini Kondhare, Rebeca Meija Murguia, Josh Pendleton, Lily Pendleton, Bhavika Rastogi, Vivan Shah, Ritsuki Singh, Sara Sonalkar, Chris Suo and Bella Zhang.

Club Olympia will be competing next weekend in the Jingle Bell Classic at Center Grove High School. Meanwhile, high school age swimmers have now moved over to the Columbus East and Columbus North teams for their high school seasons.
