Free networking sessions to focus on local, state entrepreneurs

A free event in downtown Columbus will connect local businesspeople and entrepreneurs in networking sessions and “fireside chats” and will also highlight some statewide business success stories.

The Southeast Indiana Small Business Development Center will host a free event at The Forge on 4th, 418 4th St., from 3 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 16. Along with networking opportunities with entrepreneurs from around the state, the event also will feature the debut of the 2023 edition of the Indiana Entrepreneur Yearbook by the Indiana Economic Development Corp.

Chris Redd and Ricky Mason, hosts of the digital and in-person podcast event series Network ‘N Chill will host two entrepreneur fireside chats including these Indiana entrepreneurs:

  • Lisa Hutson from the The Hiviz clothing company in Batesville
  • Sam Markle of Guardian Bikes in Brownstown
  • Robin Carmer of HillBilly Corner farmers market in Greensburg
  • Rachel Klein of Revival Food Co. in Indianapolis
  • Doug and Bryan Gresham of Greshman Foods in West Seymour

The event coincides with national and international recognitions in November: National Entrepreneurship month and Global Entrepreneurship Week.

The Southeast Indiana Small Business Development Center has an office in the Columbus Area Chamber of Commerce, 526 Washington St., and in Madison. It partners with the Indiana Economic Development Corp. and the US Small Business Administration to offer free services an training to entrepreneurs and small businesses.
