BARTLESVILLE OKLAHOMA
Larry Ayers, 80, of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2023. Larry was born on February 17, 1943 in Brown County Indiana, to Albert and Eleanor Ayers. Proudly serving in the Army Military Police, Larry went on to retire from Cummins Engine Company after many years of service.
Larry was a loving husband to Carolyn Ayers for 57 years. He is survived by his daughters Bridget (Eric) Matzinger of Bargersville, Indiana, and Samantha Ayers of Dewey, Oklahoma. Larry was a cherished grandfather to Nick (Ashley) James of Hope, Indiana, Kayla (Blake) Goddard of Dallas, Texas, Jacob (Nicole) Matzinger of Plymouth, Indiana, Brianna (AJ) Davis of Midwest City, Oklahoma, Sophia and Carl Matzinger of Bargersville, Indiana, and Emma Lehman of Bartlesville, Oklahoma. He was also blessed with four great-grandchildren. Larry is also survived by a brother Denny(Bonnie)Ayers, and sisters Patty(Benny)Bradley and Kathy Martinez. Larry is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Allen Lee Ayers, and his granddaughter Sabrina Ayers Louden.
Larry enjoyed various hobbies including hunting, basketball, baseball, and traveling. He was also an animal lover. Larry’s memorial service will be held at St. John Catholic Church in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, on November 18, 2023. Interment will be at Pikes Peak National Cemetery,Colorado Springs, Colorado at a later date.
