COLUMBUS, INDIANA
Tim Neptune, age 53, passed into eternal life on November 8, 2023. He was born in Columbus, Indiana, October 24, 1970, to Karen Shafer and Clifton Ballard. They divorced, and Roger Neptune became his new father. In 1983, Tim asked Roger to adopt him.
After high school he received an associate degree in business from Indiana Business College. He worked days at Columbus Hardware and went to school at night. He became a self-taught computer tech and started his own business in 1993. He never had to advertise, as his customer base grew quickly by word of mouth referrals.
He is survived by his parents, Roger and Karen Neptune; his significant other, Kim Middleton; two aunts; and several cousins.
Tim was a wonderful and kind man, filled with a passion for everything that he did. He was able to find humor in many things, even through some of the challenges that he faced daily. Over the last 5 years, he had acquired several rare diseases and was able to adapt to most of them except the last one, calciphylaxis, which he could not overcome.
His favorite hobbies were mowing the grass and being outdoors, working on various home projects, metal detecting (even though it was difficult with his disabilities), kayaking (before dialysis made that impossible), and collecting coins and sports cards when he could find the time.
He will be greatly missed for his humor, intelligence, mental strength and the ability to persevere through it all and continue the fight each day.
The celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 18, 2023, at Barkes, Weaver &Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street; the Reverend Charles Aigner will officiate.
Family and friends may gather for a time of visitation from 12:30 p.m. until service time Saturday.
