A Columbus funeral home is sponsoring an event called Stuff a Stocking for a Local Hero that will deliver Christmas cheer to area veterans.
Those who’d like to participate can pick up a stocking from Dignity Memorial Myers Reed Chapel, 3729 25th St., beginning Monday, then fill it with items and return it by Dec. 15. Stockings will then be distributed to local veterans.
Organizers suggest stuffing stockings with gift ideas such as nonperishable foods, drinks, treats, games, books, toiletries, gift cards, pajamas, robes and more.
