John was born November 25, 1956, in Monticello, Indiana, the son of Wayne Carmi and Mary Lou Krintz Anderson. He graduated from Twin Lakes High School in 1975. John went on to attend Purdue University and graduated with a BS in Landscape Architecture and became a Property Manager for Hanover College and more recently for Grandview Lake. He was also a school board member for Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation for 11 years. John loved making decisions to help all children.

John is survived by his wife of 42 years, Lois D. (Mills) Anderson, daughter, Hannah (Brian) Newlin of Greenwood; son, Samuel Carmi Anderson of Tampa, Florida; grandson, Harvey Houston Newlin; siblings, Mary Kathryn (Roger) Maxwell, David (Janie) Anderson, and Tom Anderson. He had seventeen nieces and nephews and twenty-eight great nieces and nephews. John dearly loved each and every one of them. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Kerry Anderson.

John loved the Lord, first and foremost, followed by his family and extended family. He was an avid golfer and fan of the sport playing a few holes up until his recent illness. John also loved water skiing especially on Grandview Lake. He found much enjoyment painting with watercolors and playing euchre. John never met a stranger and had a love for people. His smile and laughter was contagious. He recently became a proud grandpa and cherished his short time with grandson, Harvey. John will be deeply missed by those that met, knew, and loved him.
