ELIZABETHTOWN
Steve Douglas, 73, of Elizabethtown, passed unexpectedly Monday, November 13, 2023, at his home.
Mr. Douglas was born February 24, 1950, in Greensburg, Indiana, the son of Floyd and Lydia Stroup Douglas.
Steve was a self-employed truck driver and enjoyed farming.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his children, Kirk Douglas of Greenwood and Carrie Douglas of Columbus; grandson, Peyton Proctor; siblings, Cyrena (Randall) Puckett of Louisville, Maureen (Norman) Nolley of Shelbyville, Brenda Harden of Columbus, Marcelene Huesman of Columbus, Mark (Tina) Douglas of Columbus and Tim (Angela) Douglas of Whiteland.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Ronald, Kenny and Darryl Douglas.
A memorial service was held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, November 17, 2023, at Barkes, Weaver &Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Pastor Brad Douglas officiating.
Family and friends gathered for a time of visitation from 9:30 a.m. until service time.
Military honors were provided by the Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard at the funeral home.
His cremated remains were laid to rest at the Lower Union Presbyterian Cemetery in Decatur County.
