CLEARWATER, FLORIDA
Stephen W. Kinsey, 81, passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at Morton Park Hospital in Clearwater Florida. Stephen was born July 8, 1942 to parents Clifford E. and Martha M. Kinsey.
He worked at Cummins Engine Company for 34 years before retiring. Stephen married Ruth E. Heitz on February 23, 1990 and they moved to Clearwater, Florida where they have resided for the last 28 years.
Before moving to Florida, Stephen was a long-time member of East Columbus Christian Church. Additionally, he was a dedicated member of the Hope Masonic Lodge #150, and a life member of the Scottish rite.
Stephen was very sociable and had several friends in Clearwater that he enjoyed spending time with. He also enjoyed reading and playing golf. Most of all, he loved his grandchildren.
Stephen leaves behind his wife, Ruth Kinsey; his children, Craig (Victoria) Barkhimer, Amy Barkhimer, and Angel Kinsey; his grandchildren, Thomas Barkhimer and Emma Barkhimer, Terry Thompson, Alex Thompson, Savannah Thompson, and Caleb Kinsey; 6 great-grandchildren; and brothers, Sherrill D. Kinsey and Allan Kinsey
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his siblings, Rex Kinsey, Alan Kinsey, Delbert Kinsey, and Jackie Duke.
A funeral service for Stephen will be held Saturday, December 2 at 11 a.m. at Myers-Reed chapel with Pastor Ron Bridgewater officiating. Entombment will follow at Garland Brook Cemetery Mausoleum. Friends may gather for visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
