ELIZABETHTOWN
Ted C. Collier, 85, of Elizabethtown, passed from this life at 9:12 a.m. Saturday, December 2, 2023, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Mr. Collier was born November 10, 1938, in Eolia, Kentucky, the son of Herman and Eva Moore Collier.
He married Beverly R. Hoskins November 24, 1962; she preceded him in death May 4, 2012.
Ted retired from Arvin Industries after several years of service.
He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, VFW and American Legion.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War.
A sports enthusiast, he enjoyed Kentucky basketball, NASCAR and watching his nephew’s sporting events.
Survivors include his son, Todd (Idella) Collier of Nineveh; brothers, Jack (Racine) Collier of Hazard, KY, Paul (Janice) Collier of Charlestown, IN and John (Patty) Collier of Columbus and a sister, Crystal Fields of Richmond, KY.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and a sister, Barbara Webb.
The funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at Barkes, Weaver &Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Pastor Ancel Harden officiating.
Family and friends may gather for a time of visitation from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.
He will be laid to rest next to wife at Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery.
Military honors will be provided by the Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard.
