Flambeau donates to community, state organizations

Boy Scouts of America Troop 559 in Columbus was one of several area groups to receive donations from Flambeau Inc. on Nov. 16, 2023. The Scouts received backpacks and cases that will be utilized on upcoming campouts.

Flambeau Inc.’s Columbus location recently donated thousands of products to area law enforcement, Boy Scouts, schools and hunting groups. Some of the organizations included were the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office, Parkside Elementary School, and Boy Scouts of America Troop 559 in Columbus.

Items donated included pistol and rifle cases, backpacks, mugs, utility boxes, clipboards and storage cases.

The Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office received hundreds of pistol and rifle cases and insulated mugs. “It is our pleasure to serve such a wonderful community, and we are grateful for the support we receive,” said Sheriff Chris Lane.

The Columbus Police Department received 96 Cargo Range backpacks with a retail value of close to $100 each. “This donation will be beneficial to each member of the department,” said Sgt. Courtney Plummer, training sergeant. “Thank you for investing in your community.”

The Decatur County Sheriff’s Office also received a number of the backpacks and cases, as well as utility boxes and clipboards. Sheriff William Meyerrose said, “Your generous donation will be used to assist in our staff’s daily operations and is greatly appreciated.”

The Indiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR) received 215 backpacks. “Thank you for the generous equipment donation,” said Lt. Andy Hagerty of the DNR Law Enforcement.

Parkside Elementary School in Columbus received a variety of storage cases to be used in classrooms by students and teachers. “We are all very grateful to Flambeau for helping us organize our new space with your donation,” said Principal Christopher Smith.

Boy Scouts of America Troop 559 in Columbus received backpacks and cases that will be utilized on upcoming campouts.

The Indiana Hunter Education Association also received items from Flambeau. According to Treasurer Robyn Woodruff, the equipment received will support programs such as Indiana National Archery in the Schools, Becoming An Outdoors Woman, Indiana Hunter Education Instructor Academy, and other youth camps and workshops. “We are proud to include Flambeau as a supporter of these projects,” said Woodruff.
