A Not So Silent Night brings downtown to life

The holidays came to life in a big way Thursday amid the annual A Not So Silent Night event throughout downtown Columbus. Later merchant hours included specials for shoppers — and those specials even included a wealth of Taylor Swift merch to make cash registers jingle like sleigh bells.

And then there were special moments.

Santa and a reindeer visited the Bartholomew County Historical Society Museum, miniature donkeys Eeyore and Blue visited Landmark Columbus Foundation, an owl from Utopia Wildlife Rehabilitators visited Viewpoint Books, and plenty of people visited the downtown streets on a warmer-than-usual night.

Plus, there were horse-drawn carriages giving the scene an idyllic, old-world feel.
