The Columbus Golden K Kiwanis Club hosted Columbus Fire Chief Mike Wilson earlier this month at Mill Race Center, where members made a $250 donation to the Firemen’s Cheer Fund.
Wilson also discussed with club members the history of firefighting in Columbus, from bucket brigades to the present.
The Golden K is one of three Kiwanis service clubs in Columbus and supports numerous youth and community programs.
In addition to awarding annual scholarships, Golden K Kiwanis Club members also support charitable efforts that benefit organizations including Salvation Army, Love Chapel, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Riley Children’s Hospital and more.
For more information on club activities, visit facebook.com/ColumbusGoldenKKiwanis. Donations to the Firemen’s Cheer Fund, which provides holiday gifts to children in need, may be made at any Columbus Fire Station. Learn more about the Cheer Fund at firemenscheerfund.org.
