COLUMBUS, INDIANA
Beulah Sheets, 102, of Columbus, Indiana, passed away at Carmel Health and Living on Sunday, December 17, 2023.
Beulah was born to Grant and Melda Smith Pennington on August 23, 1921, in Corbin, Kentucky. She married Albert Sheets, Jr. on May 10, 1942. He preceded her in death on November 22, 1989.
Beulah was an active member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Columbus for over 60 years. In addition to helping with many church projects, she spent many years in volunteer service at San Souci in Columbus. She was a homemaker and became caretaker to both her husband and her daughter, Carolyn, when they were critically ill. She enjoyed gardening, playing cards, and baking her famous chocolate pies, which she lovingly bestowed on one and all.
Beulah was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Sheets, Jr.; son, Richard Sheets; daughter, Carolyn Sheets; sister, Elma Richardson; and niece, Charlene Hoover.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law Pamela Sheets; grandchildren, Shawn Sheets and Shannon Sheets; and great-grandchildren, Riley Barabas and Paige Barabas.
Entombment will be at the Garland Brook Mausoleum in Columbus, Indiana. There will be no service. Donations in Beulah’s memory may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, P.O. Box 1999, Memphis, TN 38101.
